Do we need a card reader for every location?
No. Many churches start with QR codes and Tap to Pay on volunteers' phones, then add a Stripe S710/S700 only for the entrances or services where a fixed giving point adds value. We will recommend the smallest set-up that covers your pattern of services.
Our venue has no reliable Wi-Fi. Will this still work?
Yes. Tap to Pay runs on the volunteer's own phone and uses its mobile signal, and QR donations happen on the donor's phone. The Stripe S710/S700 connects over Wi-Fi and keeps taking donations offline if the connection drops, sending them securely when it reconnects.
How does Gift Aid work?
Donors can add a Gift Aid declaration as part of the giving flow on a QR code or donation page. Declarations are reported centrally and claims can be submitted to HMRC through GiveTap's HMRC integration.
Can donors give regularly?
Yes. QR codes and donation pages can offer recurring monthly donations, so a one-off gift can become ongoing support where the donor chooses that option.
What if some of our congregation prefer cash?
Cash can continue alongside GiveTap. Most churches run both during the transition. GiveTap captures the growing number of people who no longer carry cash, without removing choice.
Is this right for a single small event?
Possibly, but this demo route is aimed at regular services and multi-site giving. Tell us the scale honestly and we will point you to the simplest option, including short-term reader hire.
